should we replace analog voting system with e-voting system?
Voting is a human's common right to decide something as democratic way. As democracy has been developed, voting and voting system have really big influence. However, nowadays, many people don't know how voting and voting system are important and powerful. Actually, one vote can change the world. For example, when French revolution, Louis XVI's execution was decided by voting system. As technology is developed, many people said that evolution of voting system is necessary with reasoning analog voting system's problems. E-voting system, therefore, has been issued as one of alternatives. However, some people said that there are much more serious problem on e-voting system. Therefore, the application of e-voting system has been delayed. In my opinion, we should replace analog voting system with e-voting system
In Italy where e-voting system is partly used, there was conflict that was about independence between Italy and Veneto which is city of Italy. That independence was failed because the number of people who want independence was lower than the number of people who don't want independence of Veneto and this result was shown in e-voting immediately. We can refer from this example that Europe has used e-voting system and the virtue of e-voting system, E-voting system is a voting system that allows people to vote with their computer with internet. It means that we can know the results of voting system immediately. There is one more virtue of e-voting system, that is : increase the number of participants who vote. The number of participants who vote with analog voting system is decreasing. According to research from National Statistical Office in Korea, in president election of Korea that use analog voting system, the number of participants who vote is decreasing because of some problems of analog voting system that e-voting system can solve.
According to these statistic, the number of participants who vote with analog voting system has been decreasing and this can be serious problem because the results of vote can't represent all of people's opinion, interest, problem. This situation can generate disaster of economy and society with dictator. To solve this serious phenomenon, we should replace e-voting system with three reasons in terms of protection of person's right,economy,society. E-voting system can protect people's rights for voting and participating because it is opposite from analog voting system which make people vote with their special paper in special place. It means that people should go polling place to vote and their right to vote can be violated if they can't move or vote because of physical disability or working. Vote was made to listen people's demand and constitution definite it as a right. However, E-voting system is a voting system that allows people to vote with their computer with internet. It means that people don't have to go polling place. People can vote in home or company and their right to vote is protected. Moreover, e-voting system is much more economical than analog voting system. Analog voting system need much more time to show result and there is possibility that result can be spoiled when someone just changes a ballot box . However, The result of e-vote can be shown immediately and the result of e-voting system can not be spoiled because the result is being shown during voting and this can not be changed. Moreover, process of vote doesn't need any money because we can vote without paper or any tool. In addition, e-voting system can solve serious social problem which is the number of participants who vote decreasing. However, e-voting system make people vote anywhere and anytime. This trait makes participants of vote increase.
Many people and country have delayed to replace analog voting system with e-voting system because they worried about e-voting's security. Their basic worry is about spoiled result because of hacking. However, unlike people's thinking, hacking is not easy because a lot of experts will stand by to keep from hacking. In addition, We can solve this problem with economy. For example, there already are homepages that help people to vote with e-voting system and the homepages have responsibility about hacking. it means they inevitably have to try to protect voting system from hacking. Many universities try to decide their student president with e-voting system and using these homepages. there isn't any problem with security. I understand many people worried about security. However, it is not a big problem because nowadays many of things decided by internet with protecting program.
As I related before, there are many problems on analog voting system which can be solved by replacing it with e-voting system. Because voting has powerful influence, these problems can be disaster. However, nowadays, many people don't know how voting and voting system are important and powerful. Actually, Voting is unique tool to participate in policy directly, thus, it is important to solve voting system's problem that can violate people's right. Replacing analog voting system with e-voting system can solve many problems that can be generated by analog voting system and give us many benefits economically, socially. If I'm right, many people who couldn't vote because of handicaps or work will be able to vote without going polling place. Moreover, we can show to people the results of the vote immediately. In addition the number of participants who vote will increase which is serious problem in society. However, many people said that e-voting can be hacked and the result can be changed. Unlike these people's thinking,these problems also can be solved because experience of e-voting system can make technology developed , homepage that has responsibility about vote or experts that will come together to protect like so many other internet tool. Therefore I strongly believe we should replace analog voting system with e-voting system.
